Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies they go to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.  Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent.  His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

memorial stoneSome families have expressed interest in memorials for their lost kitties. One idea is to purchase a memorial stone. Artistic Etching is an example of a company that offers custom stones for reasonable prices.

no name baby
This little "bottle baby" kitten did not live long enough to get a name - but long enough to snuggle his way into our hearts. He was rescued from inside a wall (no one knows how he got there). The people who rescued him tried their best but unfortunately they probably fed him incorrectly and he aspirated milk into his lungs so there was not much we could do for him by the time he came to our rescue group. We made him as comfortable as we could - warm, clean and snuggled in his foster mother's arms. He just fell asleep and never woke up again.

No Name Baby
No Name Baby kitty was found alone on the day of her birth. She had a congenital deformity - her back legs were badly twisted - which might be the reason her mother abandoned her. Our foster home warmed her up and provided warm milk. But little No Name Baby did not have the will to live and she crossed to the rainbow bridge on the second day of her life. Leaving behind the shackles of this earthly life, she can now run freely with all the other kitties and kitty friends.
