Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies they go to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.  Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent.  His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

memorial stoneSome families have expressed interest in memorials for their lost kitties. One idea is to purchase a memorial stone. Artistic Etching is an example of a company that offers custom stones for reasonable prices.

Earl was born in a tree on the first day of August 2008. Some kids found him and his 3 siblings but they scared the mother away and she did not return. So the kittens came to us on the first day of their lives. This is not a good thing for baby kittens. Earl did not survive - he passed away on the 10th of August 2008, before his eyes opened.

Earl is survived by his brother, Jabba, who asks "Please remember to leave infant kittens alone when you find them in the outdoors - we need our mother for at least the first 4 weeks of our lives".

Tucker (fka Ekko) was adopted in late summer 2013. He was doing great in his new home, fit right in and won the hearts of the whole family. Sadly, Tucker came down with what was hoped was a stomach virus but turned out to be FIP and his family chose to euthanize him rather than allow him to suffer. A very hard thing to do. They are heartbroken.

Elliot was a friendly young kitten. He liked to play rough and tumble with the other kittens, and the food dish was one of his favorite things. Unfortunately he came down with chronic diarrhea of an undertermined cause. Despite everything we tried to help him, he rapidly lost weight and became severely dehydrated. This little guy was a fighter but he still did not make it. He has gone to play with the other kittens who have passed.

Esmeralda was rescued from under a restaurant. She loved food and loved to eat, eat, eat. She was so sweet. She was shy at first but came around quite quickly. She loved playing and eating! She contracted the coronavirus like miss muffet and developed FIP. Despite our efforts to make her feel better, nothing was working. She was euthanized on April 20th, 2007. Hopefully now esmeralda is playing with miss muffet and enjoying an all you can eat buffet.
