Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies they go to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.  Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent.  His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

Little DK was a tiny malnurished dehydrated baby. He was about 10 days old when he came into our program however his size was that of a new born. He just was not strong enough to survive. Rest in peace little DK

Sweet little Dora came to my home in early June. She was a flea infested, sick bottle baby who desperately needed some tender loving care. She had a URI, and was severely constipated when first coming to my home. We treated the URI and the constipation and thought that would be it. Unfortunately within days she developed chronic, severe diarrhea, so severe that her little body quickly lost all of her muscle mass and although she had a very strong appetite her tiny frail body wasted away to nothing but skin and bones. She finally lost her battle on Sunday, July 9th. From day one she tugged at the heart strings. She was very sick but so adorably affectionate. She loved to be held and carried; she spent as much time as she could curled up in the crook of my neck nestled in my hair purring in my ear. During her final hours, I cuddled her little body close to my heart, talking softly to her, doing everything I could to make sure she knew she was loved. She passed away at about 12:30 pm in the arms of my daughter. For such a little baby she has left a huge hole in my heart. She is missed by all who loved her and cared for her. Little Dora is now chasing butterflies with Bandit, Snuggles, Eve and all of the other sweet little kittens that have gone before her.
