Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies they go to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.  Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent.  His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

Baby Royale
Baby Royale was abandoned by his feral mother. His 2 siblings were already dead by the time he was found. He did not have much of a chance, malnourished and suffering from severe flea anemia. In addition, he had blisters on his paw pads and an ulcer on his tummy - both evidence of virulent calicivirus.

We did everthing we could do for Baby and tried to keep him comfortable and loved until the end. RIP.

Bandit
Little Bandit was a sweet kitten about 3 weeks old. He succumbed to PanLuke 10 days after being rescued

Barney
Sweet Barney came into our program and our hearts as a tiny 2 week old baby. He was lovingly raised with his 2 siblings by one of our bottle-baby specialists and grew into a beautiful kitten. Sadly, at about 4 months of age (1 week before Christmas) something went terribly wrong neurologically. Barney could no longer walk in a straight line, he was suffering from vertigo. Our vet ran tests to rule out treatable viral and bacterial infections. Our vet's conclusion was that this was neurological and would he most likely continue to deteriorate. Little Barney began to have seizures and with each one his mobility deteriorated a little more. On Christmas Day it was clear that little Barney was not going to make it. He was seizing time and time again. He spent Christmas Day in my arms being comforted through each seizure and being cuddled and loved in between times, he could no longer stand on his own. The day after Christmas, Barney went to sleep while I snuggled him, said my goodbyes and wished him a fast journey across the Rainbow Bridge. Barney is now chasing butterflies in a field of catnip on 4 strong healthy legs. I miss you Barney

Belle
Belle was a very sweet and affectionate kitten that was rescued by some children who found her wandering in a park. She had injuries around her torso consistent with having been attacked by a dog or other large animal. In addition to the external injuries, Belle was discovered to have a perforated diaphram. She did not survive the surgery to repair this injury.

Blue
Blue was a special cat - he came into our lives on April 11, 2004 at about 1 week of age. He and his five littermates and momma cat were fostered by one of our founders prior to It's All About the Cats being formed. Blue was a rambunctious and outgoing kitten which led to him being injured during his foster stay - at about 6 weeks of age he climbed on something that tipped over onto him and caused a severe head trauma. Blue suffered neurological problems from that point forward - he had to learn to walk all over again and was never quite the same. But what a personality!

We decided to keep Blue as our special kitty due to his physical limitations. Over the years, Blue regained nearly all his neurolgoical functions - you could not tell he ever had problems except for a slight clumsiness. Through these many years, Blue was a joy to have as a friend. He was a big softie and loved to give his special "tabby head butt" to all his friends. He went so far as to make friends with some of the neighbors who are less than cat friendly, but no one could resist Blue!

It is with extreme sorrow and anger that we report that Blue was chased down and shot in his own yard on June 1, 2011. The horrible people who did this have no heart at all and will have to face their maker one day. Blue on the other hand will be waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge - ready to greet us with a big tabby head butt.

You are gone for now Blue but never forgotten. RIP with all your kitty friends.
