WHICH ONE SHOULD I TAKE HOME?

How do you know who to pick? Which one to adopt? We are here to help you answer these questions.

Kittens are not for every household and neither are some adult cats. Each cat and kitten has their own personality, just like humans. When you are adopting be sure to ask about the cat or kittens personality and make sure it will fit in well with your family's life style.

If you are a person on the go and rarely home, then you should consider adopting an adult cat who is very independent and does not demand a lot of attention or a pair of kittens who can entertain each other while you are out. If you do not have a lot of spare time then a short haired breed will be better suited for you than a long haired breed would be. Long haired cats need daily brushings and that takes time. Short haired cats do not require this attention.

If you have younger children, you may want to consider an older kitten or young cat. These are less likely to scratch because they are able to control their claws better.

If you have older children, a smaller kitten would be suitable, especially for children in their early teens. The kitten can provide companionship during a time when many children are trying to establish some independence - and a teen is old enough to take on some of the responsibility of taking care of a dependant pet.

If you are an older person looking for companionship, an adult cat would probably suit you best. They are past the clawing and teething stage and are most likely to prefer laying on you or next to you instead or running around and playing all day.
